StatusPulse vs Hyperping

Hyperping is one of our favourite peers in the monitoring space — a clean, developer-focused indie SaaS out of France with one of the best-designed public status pages on the market. We respect their craft. Where we differ: StatusPulse ships more probe types (gRPC, WebSocket, databases, SMTP/IMAP round-trip), bundles AI incident summaries, and lets you choose US or EU hosting per tenant.

Prices and feature lists last verified 2026-05-22. Both vendors iterate quickly — check both pricing pages before deciding.

At a glance

11 vs ~6

Probe types built in

StatusPulse: HTTP, gRPC Health, WebSocket, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Redis, DNS, SSL, Domain expiry, SMTP/IMAP round-trip. Hyperping covers HTTP, Ping, Port, Cron, DNS, SSL — solid for the common cases, no native gRPC, WebSocket, database or email probes.

Similar pricing

Pro at $19/mo, either way

StatusPulse Pro is $19/mo. Hyperping's comparable tier lands at ~$19/mo on the entry paid plan. This isn't a "we're cheaper" page — the call is about what's inside the bundle at that price.

US or EU

Hosting region choice

StatusPulse tenants are provisioned in either US or EU Azure regions — you choose at signup. Hyperping is EU-hosted only, which is a feature for some teams and a constraint for others.

Pricing for a typical team

A team running ~15-30 probes + a public status page on a custom domain, email + Slack alerts, PDF reports. Monthly pricing for clarity — both vendors offer annual discounts.

StatusPulse Hyperping
Free tier 5 probes, 1 status page Free trial only
Entry paid Starter $5 / mo ~$19 / mo
Team paid Pro $19 / mo ~$49 / mo
Custom domain + branding Pro+ included Paid plans included
AI incident summaries Pro+ included Not yet
Anomaly forecast (ML) Business included No
Hosting region choice US or EU per tenant EU only

The starter numbers look close. The real differences sit in what probes ship with the bundle and whether AI summaries / anomaly forecasts are included or not. If your stack is pure HTTP, both tools will serve you well — the deeper your protocol mix, the more the heavier comparison matters.

Which one is right for you?

Pick Hyperping if…

  • You love their UX and the basics cover your stack. Hyperping has one of the cleanest public status pages in the category — it earned its reputation.
  • EU-only hosting is a positive constraint. If your buyer or DPA wants a single answer ("everything is in the EU, full stop"), Hyperping's posture is simpler to defend than a multi-region vendor's.
  • Your monitoring needs are pure HTTP + Ping + Cron + DNS + SSL. If you don't need to probe a database, a gRPC service, a WebSocket session or a mail round-trip, Hyperping's bundle is well-shaped for you.
  • You appreciate indie-hacker support. The Hyperping team responds quickly and ships often. Different flavour to ours, but we get it — we're indie too.

Pick StatusPulse if…

  • You need protocol-level probes for gRPC Health services, databases (Postgres / MySQL / SQL Server / Redis), WebSocket sessions or SMTP/IMAP delivery round-trips. Hyperping doesn't have these as first-class types.
  • You want AI summaries baked in — both for live incidents and for executive sections of PDF reports. Ours land at the Pro tier; Hyperping doesn't ship them yet.
  • You want the choice of US or EU hosting per tenant — typically because you have customers on both sides of the Atlantic and want low-latency probing without cross-region replication.
  • You're scaling into Business-tier needs — multi-region quorum probing, anomaly forecasting, audit log, and (Phase B) SAML SSO. The path is in the same bundle, not a "talk to sales" wall.
  • You like deeper reports. Our PDF reports run 4 cadences and 14 sections including executive summary, SLA breakdowns and provider attribution.

Switching from Hyperping

Migrations from Hyperping tend to be quick because both tools share a modern, dev-focused mental model. Most teams run both for a week:

  1. Start on the free plan. Recreate your 5 most important monitors and pick your hosting region (US or EU). Don't touch your Hyperping setup.
  2. Upgrade the probes Hyperping couldn't reach. Replace any HTTP-checks-against-Postgres with a real Database probe; any TCP-port-against-gRPC with a real gRPC Health probe; any SMTP-port checks with a full mail round-trip probe.
  3. Wire alerts into the same Slack channel Hyperping uses. For a week or two you'll get duplicate alerts — a useful sanity check that StatusPulse catches what Hyperping catches (and usually a few things it doesn't).
  4. Publish a parallel status page on a subdomain and show it to a couple of key customers for feedback. Apply your brand colours and logo in our Pro-tier branding tab.
  5. Flip the public DNS when confident. Cancel the Hyperping renewal. Browse more reading on our guides page, or see how we compare against the bigger players in vs Statuspage.io.
